Please consider marking the anniversary by making a donation to DCBC.
Darwin College Boat Club offers students the opportunity to learn to row, to train, and to race, all at a low enough cost that no-one is deterred from taking part. As well as maintaining physical fitness, rowing is an excellent antidote to the stresses of academic work. It also helps develop good time management, teamwork and interpersonal skills that are powerful assets for life in and beyond Cambridge.
To mark the Anniversary, we are encouraging alumni to support the club. Your support will enable DCBC to maintain and renew its equipment, and to ensure that the Club stays in excellent form for the next 50 years!
All donations, small or large, are valuable to the Club, but if you can give on a regular basis this will help the DCBC to plan ahead and, importantly, also enable the committee to have an amount set aside for unforeseen emergencies. Donate here or download this form.
Some items are inexpensive. For example, £40 would pay for a crew to have a session in the Cambridge Rowing Tank. Some items of equipment are more expensive – for example, a new set of blades would cost around £3,500, and new boats start at £21,000. Both of these are generally saved up for over several years. Our Development Director, Sam Venn, would be very glad to discuss with you the possibility of making a major donation towards the cost of our next new boat.
